This project was to design and build a home to take advantage of beautiful Etowah River views in a very private setting. The home is very spacious and unique. Being in a 100 year floodplain the home has a flood design in that the foundations are down to bedrock and the home has “blow” out louvers under it to equalize water pressure under the house, should the water ever rise. All air conditioning units, inside and out, and water heaters are above the 100 year floodplain.

The exterior and interior of the home is vertical 1 x 6 tongue and groove cyprus siding for a warm woodsy feeling. The floors are full ¾ inch thick x 10 inch mahogany floors throughout the home. The full masonry fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom are covered in natural stone. The back lowered patio as well as the entry porch are covered in natural stone. There is an outdoor kitchen with a fireplace and TV for riverside enjoyment. There are master bedroom decks and dining decks around the outdoor kitchen and secondary bedrooms. Railings around the decks are glass for better viewing of the natural surroundings.

The custom gourmet kitchen is off the living room with copper vent hood and granite countertops. The exposed and beamed ceiling gives a spacious feel and the floor to ceiling windows in the combined living and dining room feature spectacular views of the fast moving river.

The spacious master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, large master closet and very spacious master bath with a huge master shower and a soaking tub as well as his and her granite topped vanity.

The other two spacious bedrooms have a view of a trout pond and the river. Each has its own bathroom and there is a sitting room between them with a view of the trout pond.
